More About Cupping...

Cupping dates back to ancient Chinese, Egyptian, and Middle Eastern cultures. There is belief that cupping dates back as far as 3000 B.C. The Ebers Papryus, one of the world’s oldest textbooks, written around 1550 B.C. describes the use of cupping as a treatment for various ailments.

Your therapist will identify area(s) where cups will be placed. Once the air in the glass or bamboo cup has been removed, the cup is immediately placed on the body. Cups can be placed on almost any part of the body, as long as there is enough flesh in the area that can be sucked into the cups. Small cups are used on the face and neck, while big cups are used for the posterior. Medium-sized cups are used for the arms, back and legs. Note that cups cannot be placed on areas where there is little flesh, or areas with large scars.
